Our Credit Department is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Sr. Accounts Receivable/Credit Specialist position. This position manages an assigned portfolio of accounts, with the purpose of supporting the growth of the brands while identifying any risk to the company. Additionally, compile and analyze a broad spectrum of customer credit data to make sound credit decisions, communicate to accounts regarding outstanding balances, manage any orders that stop in credit review and review, research, and manage approved program (Vendor agreements) allowances, as well as customer deductions.
Manage credit activities for assigned account portfolio; communicate with customers regarding their delinquent invoices, helping to resolve disputed balances including reconciling variances between amounts charged and credits issued.
Evaluate credit worthiness of assigned accounts to determine growth potential or financial risk to the company, adjusting credit lines as needed.
Fulfill customer’s requests for invoice copies, proofs of delivery or other documents as needed to reconcile accounts.
Maintain timely communication with internal departments to ensure timely payment of delinquent invoices; directly impacts cash flow and monthly DSO for the company.
Analyze, identify root cause and resolve a high volume of customer deductions.
Understand and utilize vendor portals for payments, discrepancies and all points of contact.
Collaborates with internal partners from Finance, Customer Service, Sales and Vendor Compliance to ensure that all customer programs are adhered to and maintained.
Review orders in a ‘hold’ status to determine if customer is in good standing to release the order(s) and/or if we have the appropriate credit lines established for the account.
2+ years of credit experience in business to business environment
Associates degree in Accounting preferred
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Working knowledge of internet searches for credit data analysis
NACM certifications: CAP and ACAP desired
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management.
Strong math skills needed to reconcile accounting data
Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload
Must be able to meet deadlines
Strong negotiation skills
Financial analysis and collection/customer service experience
