Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 8 direct reports and up to 300 associates within a 470K sq. ft. facility servicing several brands (The North Face, Vans, Reef, Timberland, JanSport & Smartwool)

  • Inspire and motivate our associates to meet and exceed the team’s operational goals and Key Performance Indicator targets (people, safety, financial, service quality, productivity)

  • Maintain a clean, safe and productive work environment while focusing the team’s efforts on minimizing work-related accidents and injuries

  • Execute company policies, procedures and programs in a professional, consistent and timely manner

  • Plan and conduct regular associate update meetings to share pertinent information as necessary while striving to increase overall associate engagement

  • Collaborate with others to help build a culture of continuous improvement within our facility and to drive improved performance across all KPI’s.

  • Coach and develop our leadership talent and build the bench-strength necessary to become a world-class facility

  • Plan and execute an effective training program to ensure that all associates understand and adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for their roles.

  • Manage execution of day to day Distribution Center operations within parameters of both labor and other operating expense budgets

  • Assist in the development of the operating budget for the facility

  • Assist in the development of the resourcing plan (space/ labour/ equipment etc) and present to internal and external business partners for approval.

  • Liaison with other business partners to ensure that we are meeting/ exceeding our customer’s service quality expectations

Job Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a senior distribution leadership capacity

  • Degree/ diploma in business, supply chain, logistics or engineering is required

  • Solid understanding of distribution processes and systems within a multi-channel (wholesale, retail & e-comm) distribution environment

  • Previous experience and/ or training with LEAN/ Six Sigma programs is preferred

  • Strong analytical, planning and decision-making skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced computer based skills – proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, Access, Project and PowerPoint

  • Previous experience with Manhattan PKMS would be considered an asset

  • Working knowledge of Canada employment laws and safety regulations

  • Ability to balance and prioritize competing priorities

  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours including weekends as necessary

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
