We are currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator (co-op placement) to join our Kodiak Group office located in Cambridge, Ontario, in the region of Kitchener-Waterloo.

How you will make a difference

You will provide support in a variety of functional areas including but not limited to talent acquisition and onboarding, performance management, learning management, employee wellness and health & safety, employee relations, employee engagement & communication and human resource administration for the wholesale, retail and distribution centre for Kodiak Group and Dickies employees across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the talent acquisition and onboarding process for the wholesale, retail, and distribution centre in Canada.

  • Respond to employee inquiries related to human resources policies, procedures and various programs.

  • Assist VF HR in Greensboro on the administration of the Company's group benefits and RRSP plans.

  • Assist VF HR in Greensboro with Workday payroll, time & attendance and Chain Drive commission processing.

  • Act as a Workday business transaction partner for Kodiak Group and Dickies Canada employees

  • Investigate employee and management workplace issues and report findings to the Director, Human Resources

  • Promote employee wellness and health & safety initiatives across divisions including workers’ compensation claim management and represent management on the Company's Joint Health & Safety Committee

  • Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and procedures to ensure legislative compliance and employee engagement.

  • Manage the front page of the Company’s intranet site to improve employee communication and engagement.

  • Manage the Company’s LinkedIn page to build employer branding

  • Participate and support the Company's social committee events and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Skills for Success

  • Working towards completion of a post-secondary education, with a focus on human resources management

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Thorough knowledge of employment law, human rights, pay equity and health & safety legislation

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Exceptional judgment skills and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

  • Excellent MS Office skills
