Director of Retail Marketing/Retail Brand Experiences: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
The world of Retail is changing at a rapid pace and constantly evolving. As consumer expectations and interests change, we are looking at our Retail Marketing and in-store experience strategies differently. With that, an Elevated Top Tier of Retail is beginning to emerge here at VANS. As the Director of Retail Marketing and Retail Brand Experiences, you will be an instrumental part of this ever evolving retail world and how we go to market. You will partner closely with the Global Marketing team to ensure all marketing and in-store plans ladder up the Global strategies. You will also partner closely with the DTC Visual Merchandising team ensuring the in-store experiences and in-store visual are blended seamlessly. The goals are to drive consumers to Vans Retail stores and to ensure once the consumer is in the store, they are captivated and immersed into a complete VANS experience.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Be an active participant in the Go to Market process ensuring that all key stories come to life through experiences, retail marketing efforts and in store marketing in a unique and appealing way, at all levels of Vans Retail (Good, Better, Best, Boutique).
Partner closely with NORA DTC Retail Visual Merchandising team on marketing stories aligned on in the Go to Market Process, to ensure marketing and merchandising are a seamless experience for the consumer.
Develop and refine retail marketing and retail experience strategies for all levels of store concepts. Adapt these strategies as needed to react to the fast changing retail landscape while always ensuring to activate with a brand right approach.
Partner with the NORA DTC Visual Merchandising and Global Marketing teams on exciting opportunities for events in various cities and elevated retail locations. Work alongside them to bring in store events to life by capturing our consumers with a complete brand experience.
Build out a marketing strategy for localizing elevated retail and key city locations. Partner with Consumer Insights and travel to specified cities and obtain a deep understanding of tactics that are right for each city. Create best in class programming and continuously elevate in store storytelling for these markets.
Create engaging, memorable and interactive experiences that appeal to all 5 senses.
Knowledge of macro and micro trends influencing Retail and inspiring youth culture today.
Deep passion for and understanding of youth culture; music, art, action sports, and fashion.Passion for the Vans brand.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+ years in brand marketing experience, Retail Marketing a plus
Educational/ Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years management experience in the retail field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience working in the retail industry
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Travel by air and overnight, as required 30-40% amount of time.
Lifting and/or bending 20 pounds amount of weight.
