VF Corporation Specialist - Import/Export in Eagle Pass Trucking, Texas

Job Description

The specialist position is responsible for securing and preparing documentation for clearing all north and southbound shipments to and from all Imagewear (IW) facilities and Imagewear (IW) contractors. There will be heavy emphasis on coordination of the transportation arrangements with the VF Fleet and outside carriers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the handling and checking in of the Southbound raw materials shipping to IW Contractors – inclusive of document receipt, review, conversion of vendor documents to legal export documentation and coordination with export customs brokers on classification/verification of goods.

  • Communicate status of southbound shipments to Mexico for Williamson-Dickie (WD) and IW-WorkRite flow – inclusive of maintaining status reports and communicating exceptions/delays via e-mail to VF Panama Procurement, Operations, and the destination plants.

  • Insure expedited flow of southbound and northbound goods to minimize delays at the border.

  • Coordination of northbound shipments from WD manufacturing, as well as all IW Contractors – inclusive of coordinating with Mexico carriers for timely pickup, cross-border movement, and expedited departure from Eagle Pass destined to US/CAN final delivery.

  • Communicate status of northbound flow to US and Canada destinations for WD and IW Contractors.

  • Coordinate the multi-point pickup of miscellaneous WD shipments from the Dallas-Ft Worth area to Eagle Pass (southbound), while maximizing the space utilization of the trailers.

  • Coordinate co-load opportunities across various VF brands/coalitions from Eagle Pass to miscellaneous US and Canada destinations.

  • Coordination of Mexico fabric destined to Nicaragua – inclusive of document preparation and coordination with international ocean carrier(s).

QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • High school diploma and or equivalent GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of related skills in import/Export operations.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system including word, excel, and access.

  • Current knowledge of industry standards in border crossing procedures a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Effective bilingual communication both verbal and written.

  • Problem solving and working well with others.

  • Attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Must flourish in a fast paced ever changing fleet environment
