VF Corporation Dickies - Senior Cost Accountant (Fort Worth, TX) in FT Worth Admin Offices, Texas
Perform cost accounting functions involving the application of established cost accounting standards, principles, and practices.
Interface with supply chain management in order to coordinate and perform annual costing of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
Interface with various departments during the costing process to collect and analyze the cost element details necessary for establishing an accurate valuation.
Prepare monthly financial close journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting.
Perform monthly analysis and review of actual and forecasted production and distribution cost variances. Interface with departmental management to obtain, and challenge if necessary, narrative and analysis supporting explanation of monthly cost variances.
Prepare weekly and monthly reporting over production and distribution cost variances.
Support internal and external audits by preparing/providing audit schedules, and any necessary support documentation, upon request.
Maintain cost ledgers and establish General Ledger accounts as needed.
Identify and implement improvements in the costing process and the methods to recognize inventory standards. Contribute to improving organizational process documentation and controls.
Contribute to any additional projects deemed necessary.
BA/BS in accounting with strong costing experience
Four plus years of finance/accounting experience in product costing and analysis in the distribution, retail, or manufacturing sectors
Knowledge of manufacturing and accounting concepts, techniques and principles
Accuracy in working with large amounts of data and timeliness of delivering work product
Expert user of Excel and/or Access
Willingness to data mine through complex computer files and data for select information
Willingness to change and implement changes as needed
Willingness to learn and eventually take responsibility of Costing System
Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 experience (preferred)
ERP implementation experience (preferred)
