Shift: 3rd Shift 7:30 pm to 6:00 am, Monday – Thursday

Job Description:

This position manages the Night Shift distribution operations for Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company. The Operations Manager orchestrates the efficient flow of orders through the fulfillment process ensuring the quality, accuracy and timeliness of completion of the orders. Provides leadership and manages performance across the shift. Promotes company values, including respect, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement. Actively participates in long and short term planning as a key member of the distribution management team.


In this role, the Operations Manager executes the production plan required for processing outbound customer orders. The execution will consider multiple business performance factors (i.e.: open orders and service level reports, cost per unit, customer priorities, run rates, expedited order requirements, shift productivity and back-log, etc.). Constantly works to maximize order accuracy, on-time completion and shipping, and service-to-cost ratios. Assigns work load to assistant shift managers/supervisors so the order requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Other job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the daily activity and performance of all operations associates.

  • Provides guidance and coaching as required. Interviews and makes hiring decisions.

  • Establishes performance standards and ensures quality training plans.

  • Partners with Human Resources on all associate issues.

  • Works with groups outside distribution to resolve issues (customer service, customer compliance, etc.)

  • Monitors, tracks and resolves order concerns, driving issues to problem resolution.

  • Develops improved procedures for operations. Partners with Engineering and IT staff to assess operations and to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensures OSHA regulations are followed and provides a clean and safe work environment for all associates.

  • Enforces company polices in a firm, fair and consistent manner.

  • Oversees safe-guarding of company equipment. Partners with maintenance staff to ensure the serviceability of conveyor and rolling stock equipment.

  • Drive decisions that will contribute to the financial success of the distribution department.

  • To hold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in every action performed on behalf of Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co.

  • To use good judgment whenever necessary to ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. and its associates.

  • Responsible for communications with other managers, assistant managers, supervisors, and other key personnel between shifts as well as within a shift.

Job Qualifications/Experience

The Operations Manager is preferred to have a minimum of a 4 year degree; Operations Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Ten years’ experience in high volume warehousing and distribution operations.

  • Demonstrated track record of career progression, consistently attaining more managerial responsibility and supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvement initiatives to enable their shift and the facility to meet and exceed plans.

  • Demonstrated leadership competency.

  • Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments and shifts.

  • Possesses strong desire to provide high-quality service to end customer/consumer.

  • Prior experience in a start-up and/or turn-around situation is valuable.

  • Ability to develop/implement efficiency programs to improve productivity and lower costs.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.

  • Familiarity with engineered standards programs.

  • Ability to derive and utilize mathematical models.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
