Job Description

Position Summary –

The primary responsibility of the Sales Planner is to develop and maintain a detailed sales and shipping plan for the assigned account(s) using Arthur planning application or other Excel based tools.

Key Responsibilities –

  • Reforecast retail sales plan on a monthly basis for current and future seasons in units and dollars, in accordance with the company direction and planning components.

  • Develop retail sales plan in units and dollars for future seasons in conjunction with the sales team and retailer on a timely basis using detailed planning strategies.

  • Responsible for analyzing current business for monthly business reviews. Responsible for identifying potential areas of impact.

  • Review plans on a monthly basis with retailer. Compare and resolve outstanding issues. Provide summary of meetings with team members and appropriate internal divisions of the company.

  • Responsible for documenting current and future seasons planning details. Key team member in explanation of strategies and trends that drive current and future season plans.

  • Responsible for keeping shipment plans in sync with projections.

  • Responsible for running independent ad hoc scenarios for internal management.

Account Planners, Account Sales Executives, Sales Directors, Corporate Forecasting/Planning, Retail Planners and Buyers


  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+

  • College Degree in Business, Math, Computer Science, or Finance.

  • Experience in sales planning.

  • Experience with retail ladder planning tools

  • Experience with retail inventory management.

  • Retail experience, as a Planner or Buyer


  • Strong Excel, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with retail and wholesale environment.
