Job Description

Strategic Supply Modeling & Development:

  • Works with the Sr Mgr. Product Development to craft and supports the executable supply plan.

  • Communicates with and negotiates/supports VF owned manufacturing & sourcing hubs in managing all associated supply contracts.

  • Supports manufacturing product development while working with any/all supply models (internal/external); understands and monitors supply base key performance metrics and market conditions in support of product placement.

  • Provides expertise on changes within supplier operations.

  • Provides preliminary cost estimates and final cost, to the Brand.

  • Manages & Evaluates, details related to development of product, costs and business strategies related to preferred supply options.

Product Development:

  • Collaborates with technical services (materials/garment), merchandising, brand, manufacturing/sourcing to service all product launches.

  • Manages total sample process for brands product, to include timely delivery.

  • Provides viable options for development selections, while maintaining integrity of the design and brand.

  • Supports Sr Manager Product Development, merchandising, brand, marketing, and sales to make informed decisions on product.

Communication/Liaison:

  • Analyzes and resolves problems by negotiating solutions between VF manufacturing, suppliers, operations, and business. Coordinates efforts for all prototypes, fit assessments, lab tests, and other PD/supply interfaces.

  • Communicates, within the supply model, all changes and amendments to garments until all specifications are met.

  • Report all conflicts to the Sr Mgr. Product Development if specific problems occur within the framework of product development.

Experience:

  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 5-7

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Product development and related garment experience

  • Manufacturing / Garment construction experience a plus

  • International experience a plus

  • Project Management experience

  • Analytical and ability to process data

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong negotiating skills

  • Innovative and creative problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects & priorities

  • Proficient PC skills (spreadsheets, Excel, Word & other databases)

  • Bilingual in Chinese or Spanish preferred.

  • 25% travel - international and domestic travel
