VF Corporation Production Planner in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Description

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Builds production/purchase plans for external mfg. to service the customer at a 95% service level. Maintains OSPO/ITWO to ensure valid data output and issues detail purchase orders to meet serviceability with required inventory levels of finished goods.

  • Monitors strong sellers/uncovered back orders, B lots and non-stock product and manufactures or purchases product accordingly. Contact vendors /manufacturing plants regarding CUT/PO expedite requests.

  • Provides future demand projection (buy plans) to vendors monthly.

  • Facilitates communication between DC Receiving and vendors regarding: Short/Over shipments on PO’s. Incorrect items received on PO (wrong product, size, color, etc.). Requesting return authorizations if incorrect product needs to be returned. Requesting packing lists if not received with delivered order.

  • Facilitates communication between AP and vendors regarding discrepancies on invoices.

  • Facilitates communication between vendors and AP regarding unpaid invoices.

  • Insures all plans are accomplished by anticipating interruptions, monitor compliance with finish dates by following up with vendors on past due purchase orders, and works to resolve issues. Communicates vendor performance issues to management.

  • Maintains connection with merchandising team to proactively gain knowledge of product life cycle and customer requirements to support business objectives.

  • Provides future demand projections and seeks improvements that supports the requirements of all customers and assists all related areas to ensure success.

  • Participates in systems development and process management and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5 

  • Bachelor Degree in related field of study 

  • At least 18 months as a Planner C or equivalent external experience 

  • Must be analytical with the ability to recognize inaccurate data and be able to troubleshoot processes to locate issues 

  • Strong Excel experience ( formulas, pivot tables)

  • Knowledge of VF systems preferred ( i2, BRIO, MOJO, MAINFRAME)

  • Excellent PC skills (spreadsheets, word processing) 

  • Dedicated, dependable, and flexible 

  • Functional knowledge of planning 

  • Strong ability to build basic reports using Brio (and change existing reports) 

  • Strong communication skills (written, oral) with the ability to partner both internally and externally with all personality types in resolving issues

  • Strong ability to negotiate 

  • Detail oriented and able to set priorities 

  • Overtime required as business dictates 

  • Occasional travel is required
