Job Description

The primary responsibilities of the Forecasting & Planning Analyst are to execute production based on forecasts and inventory plans and ensure coordinated logic, format and methodology in Canadian purchasing. The Forecasting & Planning Analyst works and communicates with Canadian Sales & U.S. Planning Departments to audit and confirm data and develop strategies and solve problems. They work with U.S. Forecasting counterparts to manage open-to-buy and inventory plans. They're also responsible for executing demand needs and creates PRs for Canadian WS, Retail, Outlet and samples components, creating forecasts while maintaining inventory guidelines with the proper inventory mix at the SKU level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates the Canadian purchasing process for Timberland in Canada to ensure on-time deliverables to the U.S. Planning team and the Canadian market, while striving to have better business understanding and increased efficiencies.

  • Executes Canadian purchasing to meet Sales and Operating goals for Timberland in Canada.

  • Coordinates supply visibility to Customer Service, Sales and Sr. Management.

  • Executes purchasing and inventory risk within buy plans and purchasing cycles.

  • Recommends resolutions to resolve supply issues with U.S. Planning and Sales to maximize on-time delivery.

  • Executes the Canadian category merchandise buys each season to the SKU level (by unit style, color, and size) to achieve forecast and inventory objectives.

  • Executes the tracking and adjustments in response to a variety of supply and demand inputs. Analyzes Canadian buys against production requirements to achieve maximum sales with minimal inventory exposure (i.e., dropped styles, minimum buy management and factory PO shifts).

  • Works with Sourcing to manage delivery issues. Tracks product status, analyzes current forecasts of seasonal demand, draws conclusions and communicates relevant issues to the organization (i.e., delays, constraints and order matching problems.

  • Provides category inventory reporting to VF Outdoor Brands (i.e., rolling inventory, overstocked and oversold as requested). Executes decisions that have been made on product flow to support inventory management objectives and to satisfy customers.

  • Manages excess inventory. Redesigns and improves all data inputs used in inventory roll and excess inventory analysis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+

Educational/Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration or Finance

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Perform work independently on a large volume of simultaneous projects.

  • Strong data management skills.

  • Ability to present business conclusions to management team

  • Strong PC and systems skills (spreadsheets, databases, word processing).
