Position Summary:

As part of the Timberland Operations team, the Sr. Manager of Sales & Operations Planning will be responsible for both people and process focused on S&OP, inventory results, shipment management, distribution tactical and excess disposal for the Timberland Brand. This area is responsible for inventory planning and forecasting – that keeps Brand and VF Supply Chain leadership aware of challenges and opportunities. This manager will lead routine weekly/monthly sessions focused on shipping activities, financial forecast recommendations, excess consumption with margin consideration and the Sales and Operations Planning cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for overall management of the S&OP cycle with an emphasis on content that drives business results.

  2. Lead the cross functional discussion of inventory disposal with Wholesale & Retail partners.

  3. Facilitate and drive the ship the month process, manage the consolidation of reporting, lead a weekly cross functional meeting to align on shipping expectations (month & quarter) and gain leadership forecast alignment monthly.

  4. Build all forecasts, plans and projections for regional inventory.

  5. Own DC Inventory tactical plan/forecast in units and manage inventory flow in line with DC capacities.

  6. Manage certain KPI’s with commentary to drive guidance to business partners and leadership.

  7. Manage the efforts of the individuals developing the monthly inventory, S&OP and shipping data/insight.

  8. Support the Director of Operations with additional projects, tasks and duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Years of Related Professional Experience: 7+

  • BS / BA preferred or equivalent experience required

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain operations, production, supply chain finance or inventory planning environment

Skills:

  • Expertise in Microsoft office products including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills are required for interacting at all levels within the organization.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently in a proactive and anticipatory manner.

  • Excellent follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong sense of urgency and tenacity with project completion as well as strong organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to manage and develop a professional team.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally on key initiatives.
