This brand new role as Global eCommerce Digital Site Merchandiser, is responsible for planning assortments and managing merchandising for the Icebreaker eCom (and future digital) channels to support revenue and margin objectives while presenting an exciting commercial product range on the website and other digital media to maximise conversion.

This is a highly analytical role that involves analysing customer shopping patterns and influencing the available product range and inventory on hand to deliver superior merchandising, cross-selling, upselling and bundling offers for the channel, generating insights to drive feedback to product and global/regional planning teams as part of the product development process and working with the regions and global planning to ensure the right assortments for eCom worldwide.

  • Online Merchandising Manager, Merchandise Planner, Site Merchandiser or an Inventory Analyst, Demand Planner in the eCommerce world

  • Equivalent of 3-5 years’ experience in merchandising or planning for eCommerce /retail

  • Analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, prepare and interpret reports, and communicate actionable results, findings, and recommendations.

  • Knowledge of eCommerce and financial analytical skills

  • Proven track record of effective qualitative and quantitative judgement and decision making

  • Detail orientation with ability to take a higher level view

  • Meticulous organization, ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, teamwork, and relationship building

  • Great time-management and prioritizing skills and experience delivering to strict deadlines

  • Strong problem solving capability and skill

  • Data-driven and takes initiative in developing more efficient and effective ways of doing things / new measurements and metrics that provide business insights

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Highly proficient in Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

  • Proficiency with eCommerce analytics tools such as Google Analytics and AB test frameworks preferred

What you will you be doing?

  • Merchandise seasonal product assortment for the website, working with the Regional eCom and Global eCom Marketing Manager to align on seasonal strategies. Drive sales $ and unit growth, margin performance, identify and assess new opportunities, improve sell-through for each digital touchpoint through improved site merchandising, search relevance, testing featured and predictive sort algorithms, driving appropriate cross-sell and upsell features on the site and influencing content in direct and social marketing.

  • Track product performance (sales and returns) vs. sorting and ranking rules to slow down best sellers and improve slow sellers. Partner with Retail and WSL planning teams on cross-channel insights and alignment.

  • Working with our fabulous Business Intelligence team to produce weekly, monthly, and season-end sales reports and provide analysis and insights of product performance to identify weaknesses and opportunities and inform strategies to mitigate issues both with regards to website merchandising and email marketing as well as future stock profile and product ranging. Reconcile both global and regional trends and brief appropriate stakeholders.

  • Manage the eCom channel’s promotional inventory needs, ensuring that the channel has the necessary inventory in place by informing the buy for planned promotional and marketing activities in season.
