VF Corporation Project Manager – Fabric Development in Taiwan

Job Description

Key Purpose of the Job:

The role will play a key part to drive and execute the innovation of the raw materials developments and key material technology initiatives for The North Face. In addition to execute according to the project plan, through the building up of the strategic partner relations with US Material Technical team, Sourcing, QA teams in Asia, fabric mills and vendors to further develop the new materials.

Key Area of Responsibility:

Strategic Role Relationship Building

  • Build close working relationship with the TNF Material Technical Team in US and the Asia Sourcing teams, build collaborative working culture with customers’’ best interest in mind.

  • Motivate others to accept changes and take ownership.

Project Management

  • Identifying, facilitating and implementing the project scope according to the project timeline and details

  • Drive the execution of the innovative material projects through proactively work with US TNF Material team and fabric mills for high technology fabric development, testing etc.

  • Translate business needs into business requirements to fabric mills and document the business specifications.

  • Provide technical support for the execution of innovative raw material developments and key material technology platforms.

  • Explore, analysis and access potential issues, highlight challenges and share insight back to the brand.

  • Liaison between garment technical team, mills and garment factories to engineer problem resolution.

  • Drive resolution of execution challenges at the mill base.

  • Escalate critical project issues to key stakeholders to seek for support and resolution

  • Communicate new technologies to the brand partners.

  • Continually study and keep updated Industry best practices on material innovation, trends and process work flow.


  • Contributing to the long term strategy development that supports business growth and change.
